System Engineer (Backup $ Database) | Basic $6,000+ | 5 days work week | Westgate #UrgentHiring

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, upgrade, and migrate Microsoft SQL Server (2012–2022) including patches, upgrades, and migrations.
• Design, implement, and monitor backup and disaster recovery strategies for both virtual and physical environments.
• Manage and operate Veeam Backup & Replication (v10 and above).
• Handle Dell EMC Isilon NAS configurations, quotas, snapshots, and replication.
• Oversee backup tape rotation, inventory management, and offsite storage tracking.
• Develop automation scripts (e.g., PowerShell, T-SQL, CMD) to streamline backup and database tasks.
• Validate backups regularly and conduct recovery testing to ensure data integrity.
• Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, schedules, and compliance logs.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to meet business continuity goals.
• Generate periodic reports on database performance and storage utilization.

Required Skills & Experiences

• Solid experience in Microsoft SQL Server (2012 - 2022), including of upgrades and migrations.
• Hands-on experience with Veeam Backup & Replication
• Proficient in Dell EMC Isilon administration
• Experience with backup tape systems and compliance requirements
• Strong scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, T-SQL)
• Familiar with RPO/RTO, ITIL processes, and disaster recovery planning

Qualification Preferred:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.
• Microsoft SQL certification (MCSA/MCSE)
• Veeam VMCE or Dell EMC certifications
• Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, SolarWinds)
